Emerging Artists

Helping young artists take their next step

IntoOpera is committed to creating opportunities for young artists as they begin to find their place in the professional arts. Through its emerging artist work, the aim is to make sure talented young people are supported at a stage when access to guidance, experience and opportunity can make a real difference.

At the heart of this is Key Change, IntoOpera’s talent development programme for artists aged 16 to 23. The programme creates a structured route for young artists to develop their skills, gain experience and build connections as they move towards the next stage of their creative journey.

Supporting the artists of the future

A two-year programme for emerging artists

Key Change is IntoOpera’s talent development programme for artists aged 16 to 23. It offers 12 places, with 10 available free, giving young artists structured support at an important stage in their creative development.

Over two years, participants are given the time, guidance and opportunities to develop their practice and begin building a route into the professional arts.

Time and support to develop your practice

Key Change gives emerging artists access to coaching and studio time, creating space to develop their skills, explore their work and build confidence as artists.

The programme is designed to provide sustained development rather than a single workshop or short-term opportunity.

Building experience beyond the studio

Development also happens through the people you meet and the work you experience. Key Change includes trips and introductions, helping young artists broaden their experience and begin making connections within the professional arts.

These opportunities sit alongside the programme’s coaching and studio work, giving participants a wider view of where their creative practice could take them. Draft Into Opera overview sept …
