Years Of Opera
0 +

We don't wait for audiences to come to opera. We bring opera into their lives.

Into Opera is a registered charity bringing professional opera and creative education to new audiences across Norfolk and the UK. We create high-quality, inclusive, imaginative opera experiences that inspire creativity, curiosity and confidence.

We co-design with the people we serve. We work in long-term partnerships. We place opera in the everyday — in school halls, parks, community spaces, theatres and concert halls, wherever people gather with curiosity and openness.

The Into Opera Approach

A note from Genevieve Raghu, Founder

“Directing, for me, is an act of translation — across time, emotion, and space. It begins with deep respect for the context in which a work was first conceived…”

“Opera, in its richest form, is collaboration. My role as director is to make that dialogue possible, and irresistible.”

Genevieve Raghu is a director of theatre and opera known for her vivid storytelling and collaborative leadership. She is the Founder, Artistic Director and CEO of Into Opera.

She has worked in Europe, London’s West End, and regionally across the UK for companies including Opera North, Grange Festival, Theatre Royal Bath, Opera Holland Park, and Hampstead Garden Opera.

Opening Opera to More People

IntoOpera creates imaginative performances and ambitious education programmes that remove barriers, welcome new audiences and give more people the opportunity to experience and participate in opera.

A Creative Revolution With Purpose

IntoOpera responds to barriers around access and participation by combining professional artistry, creative education and meaningful opportunities for people to experience opera in new ways.

Why Change Is Needed

Opera and high-quality creative education are not equally accessible to everyone. Financial, geographic and cultural barriers can prevent schools, young people and communities from experiencing and participating in the art form.

Creating Welcoming Ways Into Opera

IntoOpera brings together professional performance, education and active participation. Through productions, workshops, residencies and collaborations, we create experiences shaped around the people and communities involved.

Creativity That Reaches Beyond the Stage

IntoOpera’s work is designed to build confidence, creativity, communication and connection. Each project gives participants opportunities to discover new abilities, work with professional artists and take pride in what they create.
